Multifocal glasses (also known as Progressive, Graduated or Varifocal) let you focus through different prescriptions at different distances through the same lens. Bifocals (meaning a lens with two prescription powers - usually one for distance and one for near vision correction) Reading section is called the Segment and separated by a line. A progressive lens provides a more natural correction than bifocals without any lines to get in the way. Those lenses provide excellent results for most patients.
